From Daydreams to Bookshelves: How I Fell (and Stayed) in Love with Writing

Hey there! So, I wanted to share a little bit about how I got here — from scribbling stories in notebooks to actually seeing my books out in the world. It's been a wild, emotional, sometimes terrifying, but always rewarding ride.

The Early Days: Just Me, a Notebook, and a Dream

Like a lot of writers, I started young — daydreaming in class, inventing love stories in my head, and then rushing home to write them down before they disappeared. I had this beat-up notebook (okay, many beat-up notebooks) filled with messy handwriting and over-the-top romance plots that made perfect sense in my teenage brain. And honestly? I loved it.

From the start, I knew one thing for sure: I was obsessed with romance. Especially the kind that had a little magic in it — whether it was literal magic or just the kind of love that feels bigger than life.

The First Big Leap — Always Have, Always Will

Publishing my first novel, Always Have, Always Will, was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done. It’s a small-town romance full of second chances, slow-burn love, and the kind of soul-deep connection that feels like it’s been written in the stars. It’s sweet, a little sad in parts, but ultimately hopeful — just like the kind of stories I’ve always loved reading (and now writing!).

Putting that book out into the world felt like standing on a stage in my underwear. Total vulnerability. But then something amazing happened: people read it. And even better — they felt it. I started getting messages from readers who saw themselves in my characters or said the story made them cry (in a good way, I promise!). That kind of connection? There’s nothing like it.

What I’m Working on Now — The Varwicks

Right now, I’m deep into my next project: The Varwicks. It’s a six-book paranormal romance series about a powerful family born from both vampire and wizard blood (yes, really!). They’re a mix of broody, badass, and secretly soft-hearted — just the way I like my heroes.

The Varwicks are protectors, fighting off a mysterious evil known as the Blackhearts while trying to keep the human world safe — and totally unaware. Of course, each book is packed with romance, danger, family drama, and those “you and me against the world” vibes I can never resist. Think magic, dark secrets, ancient legacies… and some seriously steamy slow burns.

Why I Write (and Probably Always Will)

For me, stories have always been a safe place — a way to explore emotions, escape reality, and believe in something bigger than the everyday. I write because I think love matters. Because I believe in the power of hope. And because I think sometimes, even just for a little while, we all need to believe in something magical.

Whether it's a quiet love that grows over time or a fierce connection that hits like lightning, I want to write the kind of stories that stay with you — the ones that make you feel a little more seen, a little more brave, and a lot more hopeful.
